Travelers are responsible for carrying a passport valid for the duration required by Moroccan authorities and for meeting any entry requirements that apply to their nationality. Entry and visa rules can change. Check the latest requirements with the appropriate Moroccan embassy, consulate, or official government source before your trip. We recommend keeping photocopies or secure digital copies of important travel documents separate from the originals. If your nationality has specific visa, residency, or documentation requirements, confirm them well in advance of the tour.
This is a high physical activity-level, steady-paced tour. You can expect to be on the move regularly, particularly in historic medinas and during the Atlas and waterfall visits. The itinerary includes several hotel changes (including a 1-night stay in the Atlas foothills), several consecutive days with included sightseeing, and road travel between cities by private motor coach or touring vehicle with planned rest stops on longer driving days.
Travelers should be prepared to walk approximately 2-3 miles on many sightseeing days over city streets, tiled courtyards, cobblestones, stairs, and uneven medina lanes. The Ouzoud Falls and High Atlas portions can include inclines, stone steps, loose surfaces, and uneven paths. Some historic properties and medina sites may have limited elevator access. Travelers should be comfortable participating in included walks without individualized assistance.
Casablanca’s Atlantic setting is generally milder than inland Morocco, while Marrakech can feel noticeably warmer during the day. Mountain areas can be much cooler than the cities, particularly in the morning and evening. Layers are useful throughout the tour. Weather varies by season and elevation. Sun protection, a light rain layer, and a refillable water bottle are useful additions to your day bag.
Morocco Guided Tours staff and guides focus on the safe and smooth operation of the group itinerary and may not be able to provide continuous one-to-one mobility or luggage assistance. The group must keep to scheduled departure times so included visits can be completed as planned. Travelers using mobility aids should be aware that narrow medina lanes, stairs, uneven paving, and mountain paths can make access challenging in some locations. If you have concerns about the activity level, discuss the itinerary with Morocco Guided Tours before the tour begins.
Included transportation between destinations is by private motor coach, minibus, or another touring vehicle appropriate to the group size and route. Historic medinas are largely pedestrian areas; vehicles may need to stop outside old city walls or at designated access points, followed by a walk to the hotel or sightseeing area. Road conditions and traffic can affect drive times. For comfortable coach storage and hotel handling, we recommend one main suitcase and one small day bag per traveler. Porterage is not guaranteed at every property.
Pack comfortable, breathable clothing that can be layered for changing temperatures between the coast, inland cities, and mountain regions. Sturdy walking shoes or sneakers with good traction are strongly recommended for medina streets, archaeological sites, waterfall paths, and mountain walks. Choose modest clothing for visits near religious and traditional sites (covering shoulders and knees is a respectful default). Bring sun protection, a light jacket, reusable water bottle, and a universal travel adapter (two-pin European style). In markets, keep bargaining friendly.
Morocco Guided Tours selects accommodations for a balance of comfort, location, character, and access to the itinerary. Properties may include modern city hotels as well as Moroccan-style accommodations with courtyards, traditional decor, or riad-inspired design. Elevators and fully step-free access are not guaranteed, especially in older buildings or properties near historic medinas. Wi-Fi is common at many accommodations, but speed and coverage can vary.
Optional experiences may be offered before or during the tour depending on local availability and the final operating schedule. Consult your healthcare provider before travel if you have questions about medications, vaccinations, or managing a health condition. Bring enough prescription medication for the full tour and keep essential medication with you in your day bag. Tell Morocco Guided Tours about significant dietary restrictions in advance. Stay hydrated and pace yourself during warmer sightseeing days and mountain walks.
This tour includes eight breakfasts, one lunch, and three dinners. Moroccan cuisine combines savory spices, herbs, preserved ingredients, dried fruits, vegetables, grains, and slow-cooked meats (tagine, couscous, harira, pastilla, grilled meats, cooked salads). Mint tea is central to Moroccan hospitality. Tipping is customary for guides, drivers, porters, and hospitality services; cash in Moroccan dirhams (MAD) is most practical. Cards are accepted at hotels and larger establishments, while cash is essential in medinas and small shops.
Wi-Fi is available at many hotels, though speed and reliability vary; Wi-Fi is not guaranteed on touring vehicles. Your Morocco Guided Tours Tour Director will coordinate the group throughout the journey, working with local guides in the destinations you visit. Morocco Guided Tours provides on-tour coordination; if an unexpected issue affects an included service, your Tour Director will work with local partners to identify the most practical solution.
Support local communities by eating at locally owned restaurants, buying directly from artisans, and choosing authentic locally made products. Ask permission before photographing people and respect requests not to take pictures in private, religious, or working spaces. Reduce single-use plastics by carrying a reusable water bottle. Do not remove stones, plants, artifacts, or materials from archaeological sites (such as Volubilis), natural areas, or protected landscapes.
