Travelers are responsible for carrying a passport that meets Morocco’s entry requirements for their nationality and travel dates. Visa requirements vary by nationality and length of stay. Check current requirements with the appropriate Moroccan consular authority before your tour. We recommend keeping at least two blank passport pages available for entry and exit stamps where applicable. Requirements can change, so review official guidance again shortly before your trip and carry any required documentation with you.
This tour begins directly in Marrakech at the designated hotel or meeting point provided by Morocco Guided Tours. The program concludes in Marrakech after the final morning of the itinerary. Travelers are responsible for arranging any transportation needed before the tour begins and after the tour concludes.
This is a moderate physical activity-level, relaxed city-based tour. You’ll stay in Marrakech for the full week, balancing included sightseeing and day trips with free time. You can expect one hotel base for all 7 nights, several full days of included activities with additional options available, most included transportation by private motor coach, and longer driving periods on the Atlas Mountains and Essaouira day trips.
Travelers should be prepared to walk about 2-3 miles on active sightseeing days over city streets, uneven paving, medina lanes, stairs, and occasional slopes. Medina streets can be narrow, crowded, and uneven, and some historic buildings may have stairs without elevators. The Atlas Mountains excursion may include an easy walk on uneven village or valley paths. The route can be adjusted based on conditions. Travelers should be comfortable participating in included walks without individualized assistance. Adding optional excursions may increase the total amount of walking. Marrakech can be warm and sunny during the day, while mornings and evenings may feel cooler. The Atlas Mountains are generally cooler than Marrakech, and conditions can change quickly with elevation. Essaouira is often breezier and milder because of its Atlantic location, so a light layer is useful.
Your Morocco Guided Tours Tour Director is responsible for the overall group experience and cannot provide continuous individualized mobility or luggage assistance. The group must keep to scheduled departure times so included visits and day trips can operate as planned. Travelers with mobility concerns should consider the uneven surfaces, stairs, crowded medina lanes, and mountain terrain involved in this itinerary and contact Morocco Guided Tours before the tour to discuss practical needs.
Included day trips and scheduled transfers during the program are primarily by private motor coach or appropriately sized private vehicle. Marrakech medina sightseeing is largely on foot because many historic lanes are not accessible to larger vehicles. Driving times can vary with traffic, road conditions, mountain weather, and local events. Rest stops will be made on longer day trips when practical. Storage space in private touring vehicles is limited, so we recommend one main suitcase and one small day bag per traveler. Label your luggage and keep valuables, medication, documents, and essential items with you. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing that can be layered, plus a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings, mountain conditions, and the Atlantic coast. Sturdy walking shoes, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, and a universal travel adapter are recommended.
Morocco Guided Tours selects accommodations with a balance of comfort, location, and Moroccan character. Your confirmed property may be a hotel, riad-style accommodation, or similar property in Marrakech for all 7 nights. Traditional properties may have stairs, interior courtyards, smaller rooms, or limited elevator access. Wi-Fi is commonly available, though speed and coverage can vary. Some accommodations in or near the medina cannot be reached directly by larger vehicles, so a short walk with luggage may occasionally be required. If you book an optional hammam treatment, staff will explain what clothing or disposable garments are provided and how the bathing and exfoliation process works. Speak with the hammam or your Tour Director beforehand if you have mobility, skin-sensitivity, or privacy concerns.
Optional excursions (Marrakech Evening Food Walk, Moroccan Cooking Class & Dinner, Agafay Desert Experience, Ouzoud Falls Day Trip) are subject to availability, minimum participation, local operating conditions, and seasonal considerations. Some activities may require advance booking. Before traveling, check with your healthcare provider for advice relevant to your personal health needs and destination. Bring enough prescription medication for the full tour and keep essential medication with you during sightseeing and day trips. Tell Morocco Guided Tours in advance about important dietary restrictions or food allergies. Drink water regularly, especially on warm sightseeing days.
This tour includes two lunches and one farewell dinner, in addition to daily breakfast. Included meals may be set menus, shared dishes, or family-style service featuring tagines, couscous, harira soup, grilled meats, salads, breads, and pastries. Mint tea is a central symbol of hospitality. Essaouira is especially known for seafood, while Marrakech offers everything from market food to contemporary Moroccan restaurants. Vegetarian options are widely possible. Tipping is customary in many parts of Morocco for guides, drivers, hotel staff, and restaurant service. Gratuities are not automatically assumed. The local currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD). Cards are accepted at many hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, while cash remains useful in souks, small cafes, taxis, and rural areas.
Wi-Fi is available at many Marrakech hotels and riads, though connection speed and coverage can vary. Wi-Fi should not be assumed on private touring vehicles. Your Tour Director coordinates the week’s included services, provides destination context, and supports the group. Morocco Guided Tours provides on-the-ground coordination. Support locally owned restaurants, artisans, cooperatives, and small businesses. Ask before photographing people, especially artisans and market vendors. Keep souk bargaining friendly and respectful. During mountain and coastal excursions, leave natural and historic sites as you found them and reduce single-use plastic waste. Approach differences in dress, religion, food, and daily customs with curiosity and respect.
